"This year the theme is “Enabling Clinical Transformation”. Transforming health services is inevitably going to involve the use of information technology, but getting the full benefit of this technology is not easy. Learning from others and understanding what we are doing and why is especially important in times of change. Around the world, 2010 is looking to be a year of transformation in the health sector, some of it painful, much of it exciting. As we are in Wellington this year, we hope that the networking that always goes on at HINZ Conference will allow people in the health sector to maintain and enhance the links between the health providers, government, vendors and academics that is especially important in a time of change. Having the opportunity for a social event at Te Papa is also a big bonus, and Wellington is a very easy city to “conference” in."
