CapPlan Theatre Introduction Training

This course shows how surgical forecast planning can be optimized. By creating elective schedules and alternative ‘what if’ scenarios you can compare results to your current Theatre plans. Run Confidence Reports and other key Reports so you can make better decisions regarding Theatre Scheduling.

Prerequisites

Attendees will be required to have an intermediate knowledge of Windows applications such as Excel. Attendees will be comfortable with data analysis, along with learning new applications such as CapPlan & CapPlan Theatre.

Attendees will be required to have access to a PC or Laptop computer.

Who Should Attend

Introduction to CapPlan Theatre is recommended for those people involved in the Theatre Planning process. Attendees are likely to be responsible for providing analysis and modeling related to Theatre Scheduling and Planning.

Objectives

On completion of the training attendees should be able to do the following:

  • Understand what constitutes a good elective plan
  • Know how to build an elective plan
  • Understand the purpose of theatre reports
  • Know how to build a what-if scenario
  • Auto-generate care paths at speciality and procedure group level

Course Content

In this course we conduct a Theatre Flow exercise to understand the dynamics of Theatre Planning and the impact on inpatient beds. We examine real life case studies to show how to make accurate predictions of occupancy based on elective planning. We also examine case studies which show how we can create an alternative ‘what-if’ scenario to even out occupancy.
